Our New Website is Live!

Meet Vanessa

Hi, I’m Vanessa. I learned to knit in my 20s with my mom at The Knitting Tree. We’d always loved doing artsy, creative things together, and picking up knitting felt like a natural next step. From the moment we started, we were hooked.

That experience, learning side by side, sharing laughs, and creating something with our hands, is what I want The Altered Stitch to feel like for everyone who walks through the door. To me, the shop should feel like going to your grandma’s house: warm, safe, cozy, and filled with love. A place where you can relax, be yourself, and leave a little happier than when you walked in.

⟵ Our New Location

How it All Started

The Altered Stitch has always been more than a yarn shop - It’s a place to gather, connect, and create. When Vanessa became the owner in 2024, her biggest hope was to carry on that spirit and keep the shop feeling like the cozy, welcoming space so many people already loved.
