As the weather warms up, are you looking for a small, portable project that's quick to knit, comfortable to wear year-round, and easy to customize? The answer: socks!
In this class, you'll learn the basics of sock construction step by step using your choice of magic loop or double-pointed needles and either fingering/sock or DK weight yarn.
You'll learn knitting in the round, increases and decreases, picking up stitches, and the Kitchener stitch. By the end of the class, you'll be well on your way to knitting comfortable, handmade socks for yourself and thoughtful gifts for others.
Supplies:
Pattern: "Basic Sock" by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas ($9 to purchase on Ravelry)
NOTE: Yarn for the class must be purchased at The Altered Stitch. Please come early to pick your materials and have them wound before class begins. You are more than welcome to come any day before the class. Any of the staff will be more than happy to help you with your yarn choices and get you prepared for class at your convenience.
