Intro to Lace Crochet - Make Your First Doily!

Learn the heirloom art of doily crochet, but with a modern twist. Using chains and basic crochet stitches, you will learn how to follow a doily pattern to create a stunning wall hanging or table décor. This pattern is adjustable to your skill level and can be made with crochet thread, fingering or sport weight yarn, and corresponding hook size.

Prerequisite: Know how to chain and work basic crochet stitches. Slip Stitch, Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, and Double Crochet.

Supplies:

• 1 ball of crochet thread or 1 skein of Fingering/Sport Weight yarn

• 1.00MM- 1.5MM crochet hook

• Bulb head safety pins as stitch markers

• Sewing needle if working with crochet thread

• Scissors

• Tapestry needle if working with yarn

NOTE: Yarn for the class must be purchased at The Altered Stitch. Please come early to pick up your materials and have them wound before class begins.
