Are you interested in learning how to knit a pair of socks, but find the idea intimidating or new to knitting the round? This class is for you! Learn how to knit socks one-at-a-time top down. Both double pointed needles and magic loop will be taught, depending on personal preference. This class will teach knitting in the round, ribbing, changing colors, the anatomy of the sock and how to knit it, plus the Kitchener stitch.
Supplies must be bought at the store and the pattern must be bought through Ravelry.
The class is taught in three 2 hour sessions. Don’t worry if you can’t make all three sessions, we will arrange some time for you to get caught up! You can also attend in person or via Zoom.
Part One:
Saturday, May 6th 10am-12pm (Before Reg. Store Hours)
First session is to learn to knit in the round, knit cuff, and change colors, and ribbing.
Part Two:
Saturday, May 20th 10am-12pm (Before Regular Store Hours)
Second class you learn the heel flap, turning the heel, and the gusset.
Part Three:
Saturday, Jun 3rd 10am-12pm (Before Reg. Store Hours)
Finally, the last is the toe decrease, the Kitchener stitch, and hiding the ends of yarn (weaving in the ends) into your project. You are welcome to stay after class to knit and I am available for Q & A. I have also created a Kitchener Stitch Cheat Sheet Worksheet for you to take home. For Zoomers, one will be emailed before class.
