Crochet 101-In Shop Only
This is a perfect first project to master the fundamental stitches of crochet and build your crochet knowledge. In this two session class, you will learn how to read a basic crochet pattern, how to hold your hook and yarn, the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet stitches. You will be making a scarf to practice these stitches, which developes muscle memory. Plus, you will be taught tips and tricks to keep your crochet stitches straight and looking great.

Tunisian crochet is starting to become popular. You can make projects that look woven. You can also create fabrics that look like knitting but made with a crochet hook! Tunisian crochet stitches are full of texture and oh so squishy. We are going to make a swatch to learn the simple stitch, Tunisian knit stitch, and Tunisian purl stitch. We will discuss Tunisian crochet basics that will prepare you for making beautiful projects and reading patterns. Must know basic crochet stitches; Make a slip knot, chain stitch, how to yarn over and single crochet. To prepare for this class, please enroll in Crochet 101 prior to taking Tunisian Crochet.

Join us for a leisurely Saturday afternoon to create an illusion knit! Finished size is 55” X 28”. However, final size will be determined by the thickness of the yarn used. This class is an excellent steppingstone into the wonderful world of illusion knits. Basic knitting skills required: Cast on, Knit, Purl stitches. Build your skills with kfb increase, decrease, reading a charted pattern, picking up stitches on an edge, and fringe. In this class we will bring to light the technique of illusion knitting or creating a hidden image in your knitting. Reserve your spots early before the spots fill up. See you there!

It is always sweater weather when it is a pattern by Andrea Mowry! In this class you have the option to knit whichever version of The Weekender you would like. There is the traditional that is made in worsted weight yarn, perfect for Malabrigo Rios. Another version called The Weekender Light, is perfect for people who prefer a lighter weight sweater made out of fingering weight yarn. Finally, The Weekender Crew is made with DK and has pockets! The sleeves on all 3 patterns have a lovely texture that runs all the way the length of the sleeve that starts at the shoulders and the sleeves are dropped. There are short rows, slipped stitches, a 3-needle bind-off in the design. You will get help with all these techniques while making friends with everyone in the group. You can join in person. Want to learn a new craft this year? Learn basic knitting skills in this new & improved two session intruduction class. You will learn the basics of knitting including: Cast on, cast off, the knit stich, and the purl stitch.
You will need some worsted weight (#4), light colored, non variegated yarn. a US 9 needle (circular or straight) and that's it!
