Basic Stocking
by Churchmouse
We are beginning to celebrate the holidays early this year. Come class to create the perfect Christmas stocking for yourself or a loved one. This is a fun way to learn how to make socks without having to make the second one. There is the choice of The Wee, Medium, or The Jolly Big sized stocking. The pattern is cuff down with an afterthought heel. It will be knitted in the round using either double pointed needles or circular needles, depending on your preference. The class will be divided into three 2-hour parts. We will begin with the cuff and leg in the 1st session and talk about jogless stripes. The 2nd class will cover the afterthought heel and how to move onto the foot section. The 3rd part will cover toe decreasing , the heel and the Kitchner Stitch. We will also talk about embellishments and discuss finishing skills. No previous sock experience required but knowledge of the knit and purl stitch is necessary. You can join in person or via Zoom. Reserve your spot for class early before if is full. See you soon.
