Sharon on the Trail: The Casapinka MKAL
Casapinka is at it again and we have another mystery knit-along or as we like to call it, a MKAL. If you have never been in an MKAL before it is like the name implies, a MYSTERY. We only know we need 4 skeins of fingering weight yarn. three fade into each other and one is a high contrast colour. We do not know how the finished shawl will look. But when it comes to Casapinka, they are usually big. The pattern instructions are released over 6 weeks as 6 separate clues. The first clue comes out July 21st.
This class is designed to guide the group through this MKAL and all the clues. It is purposely set up a week behind each clue. It gives you time to work on your clue and see if you have any questions and be able to talk to the group as a community about what you liked about each clue and what you may of had trouble with. It also gives us time to be prepared and familiar with the pattern to give you the best possible help since it is a mystery to us too. Oftentimes, it is hard to stay on top of every clue because life happens, so we are knitting a little more leisurely while keeping up with what's going on in the social media and all the spoilers and fun. There will be one week off and then we will have the final class to give people time to catch up before our final meeting. Then we will have the final reveal. We can compare our pieces art that we worked so hard on and talk about our journeys. MKALs are so much fun in that way. Everyone's projects turn out so differently. Working in a group is a completely different experience than working alone. If you have only tried MKALs on your own, try it in our group for an added twist. If this is your first MKAL and you want the support of a teacher or you just want to have some fun and community with some local fiber artists join our Casapinka MKAL group and we will blaze with Sharon on the Trail together. You can join in person or via Zoom. You we will love to have you either way.
