FREE Monday Night KAL: The Avana Shrug
For our FREE KAL we are going to make The Avana Shrug. It caught our eye during the L.A. Yarn Crawl last year thanks to Jam Jar Yarns, who brought it as a luscious sample that everyone could not stop trying on. It is so wearable and looks good on everyone. This piece that can easily be dressed down with jeans or dressed for a night on the town, This particular sample used 2 skeins of Jam Jars Berry-luscious Sport in a yummy silk and wool blend that we currently brought back by popular demand tothe store. But, it can be used in other fiber blends we carry in the shop, as well. The pattern is quite simple. You start with a provisional cast-on. Knit in stockinette for 10". Then you fold your work over and knit the lace border in the round. The lace sleeves are picked up in the holes created from folding the fabric over. Viola...a brand new cocoon style shrug is born. It comes in one size but we can help you customize it to a size that suits your tastes better. Remember, when customizing you may need extra yarn to avoid playing yarn chicken. You can join in person or via Zoom. When you purchase your supplies we will add you to the class. See you soon.
