In this two-part class, you’ll learn how to fix common knitting mistakes, understand gauge, and block your finished work.
Part One: Fixing Mistakes
Learn how to tink backwards, ladder down to fix stitches, and pick up and re-knit stitches. We’ll also cover common knitting mistakes and how to keep your project on track.
Part Two: Gauge & Blocking
Learn how to properly measure your swatch, adjust your gauge, and understand general yarn weights. We’ll also cover tips and tricks for blocking your finished work.
Prerequisite: Know how to cast on, bind off, and knit garter and stockinette stitches.
Supplies:
Worsted-weight yarn for a gauge swatch (superwash wool recommended)
Instructions and homework will be provided in class
NOTE: Yarn for the class must be purchased at The Altered Stitch. Please come early to pick up your materials and have them wound before class begins. You are more than welcome to come any day before the class. Any of the staff will be more than happy to help you with your yarn choices and get you prepared for class at your convenience.
