I'm Kate, dyer of yarns and maker of anything toadstool!! I live in the
English countryside with my little family where I hand paint and dye a range
of variegated yarns that are packed with colour and speckles.
I design knitwear, often for my two small people and often covered in
toadstools, so you will generally find me knitting, or covered in dye!

I started to dye just to play two years ago with scraps of yarn and food dyes, and immediately I decided that I wanted to improve my creations using professional dyes and quality yarns, and so the adventure began!Since then I studied color theory, I’ve made hundreds of mini samples, and my love for colors continues to grow more and more every day. I officially open SnailYarn shop less than a year after in August 2014.
For now the magic happens in my home kitchen, but I hope to move soon in a separate studio.
I love highly variegated colourways, as well as subtle variegated shades, and I love stripes so much, so I create lot of tonal and semisolid colourways which can be mixed and used together to create colorful projects, and the more the pairing is unusual, the more I like it! All my yarns are kettle dyed in small quantities, usually 5 skein per batch.
I care for high quality of yarn and fibres, as well as for the environment and the animals, especially for our beloved sheeps which provide us with this wonderful material, the wool, we knitters love so much to work with. For the yarn I only use Merino wool from South America or Falkland in order to avoid the mulesing issues, Bluefaced Leicester bred in UK, and other high quality fibres, all specifically spun for hand knit.
I use environmental friendly, weak acid, exaust dye. This means that they need only a bit of vinegar or citric acid (which I use because it is odorless) to be fixed, as well as heat. They exaust at the end of the process, so no residual dye remains in the water used to dye. Plus they are guaranteed as totally safe to be worn next to the skin.
And overall I’m a knitter, I loved to knit since my childhood, but after discovering Ravelry in 2010 knitting became an addiction and a real passion, and I hope to transmit some of this passion to you through my yarns and my colours.

When my oldest son was just wee baby I decided to cloth diaper him. As most of you know, the world of cloth diapers is like no other. Along with cloth diapers came wool interlock shorts, knitted shorties and incredibly cute custom hand made knitted items! That's all it took for me to get the urge to learn how to knit. A few trips to the local craft stores left me wanting
MORE. I have always been attracted to vibrant, deep saturated yarns, which the craft stores here seemed to be lacking. On a whim I ordered some bare yarn and acid dyes. I was immediately hooked! I will admit that the first few tries gave me some"interesting" results. I couldn't give up! I was determined to get this right. My very first successful skein of yarn was an absolute thrill! I knew from that moment I would be dyeing yarn, and lots of it. I have shared my passion with anyone who will listen to me. Teaching my friends and family to knit and how to dye yarn and fiber of their own. I have even taught some sessions at the local community center just to spread the yarn dyeing love. I really hope that my passion and love for this art
shows in my work and that our customers enjoy knitting and crocheting with it as much as I love dyeing it.
I'm Melanie. I hail from the south side of Denver, Colorado and I love cats,
hockey, and all things fiber. I started my fiber addiction by learning to crochet at a young age. A while after that I learned how to knit, dye, and spin. It's hard for me to choose a favorite since they all offer something very different. I love crocheting stuffed animals, knitting lace shawls, dyeing yarn and fiber in bright colors, and spinning the fiber into
something amazing!
My name is Andi. I am the owner/ creative mind behind Andi Pandi Crafts. I
am originally from Wisconsin but living in Missouri.I have been dyeing
yarn for about 3 years. I also dye roving for spinning and I make projects
bags. Andi Pandi Crafts began when projects were overflowing out of my
dorm room! It wasn't until about a year ago that my shop began to grow. I
love experimenting with bright, fun colors, and also new techniques. I
hope to open my own yarn shop someday to share my love of all things

spinning fibers including gradient dyes, semisolids, variegateds and mini
skeins sets.
Laurs lives and creates in sunny southern California.Her etsy shop,
selling hand-dyed yarn and fiber, opened in 2008. All fibers are dyed with
lots of care in her home studio.Every step of the dye process is
meticulously done resulting in quality fibers that are a joy to spin.

I’m Sarah, I dye and spin yarn – and knit too! I also own the Etsy shop ilovepinkgeraniums. You might say I’m just a teeny bit obsessed with the captivating art of spinning my own hand dyed fibres into bright, theatrical skein’s of glorious colour! It’s fun, exciting and I’m completely in love creating my own unique hand dyed yarns!
Our dining room is now my craft room where I spin, knit and completely indulge myself in wool – really can’t think of a better way to spend my day!

Ali is the owner and one woman show that is Kaleidoscope DyeWorks. After years of dying fibres and fabrics for fun, and with the encouragement of friends and family, she opened her Etsy shop in February of 2015. Bringing only the finest quality of Canadian yarns and fibres to the world market is both the goal and the passion behind Kaleidoscope. Ensuring that each skein is dyed to exacting and professional standards often means 18 hour days, but it is truly a labour of love. When she's not dying yarn from her home on the prairies of Northern Alberta, Ali can be found spinning, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family.
I operate Turtlepurl out of my home in rural New Brunswick, Canada (Close to the famous Bay of Fundy). I started knitting while I was learning to cope with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, as I was in the military at the time. Knitting was a huge part of my transition from military life, and as I began to delve into different aspects of fiber arts, I started dyeing. I've always had a knack for colour and colour combos, so I took to it quickly and before I knew it, I was swapping with other fiber artists, and then opened my own store. I've been dyeing yarn and fiber since 2007 and I now work full-time with Turtlepurl and have staff to help!
We don't have a brick and mortar shop, though I do open the studio once a week, on Saturdays, to the public. We do wholesale our yarns to a number of stores throughout Canada and the US.

I’m Shari and I make things.I am creative by nature and it’s clearly genetic because I come from a long line of crafty women and have one crafty 4 year old daughter who helps to dye the yarn that you see on my page. She loves to mix the colors and make rainbows, which is why most, if not all of my yarn is bright and cheery. I live in Colorado in the Mountains (well, in Littleton where I can SEE the mountains, but I count it anyways) with my husband and two monsters (a little girl and a little boy) and two Weiner dogs, Sarge and Tank.I started dyeing yarn earlier this year after seeing some amazing things and learning from an amazing local Colorado dyer - it was the best crafting class I had ever taken, except for my spinning class. We are a young, newly married couple who began dyeing yarn out of our
apartment while in college full-time. Our love for crafting and rich color
gave way to this small business and we never could've imagined the success
it would see in it's first year of operations! Texas Dyed Wool represents a
standard of bright, bold and beautiful colors on a variety of high-quality
yarn bases in a range of weights.

I grew up in a house full of vibrant and colorful art. One of my parents has
authored and illustrated 11 folk-art children's books, the other has designed the sets for countless theatrical productions. I grew up in a creative home where anything from the clothes we wore to stain glassed windows were homemade, hand-painted or hand-built. From an early age, I learned to knit, sew and make a wide variety of things, allowing me to transform the notion of "I don't know how" to "How could I do that?" from an early age. We never dyed yarn at my house, but there was no reason in my
mind that I couldn't try it and even sell a few skeins.
I enjoy dyeing semi-solid yarns that capture a full range of tones in one note. This makes your eyes dance and seemingly the colors are alive.
If you need a little more information: three fates yarns was named one day when I was dreaming of owning my own yarn shop, a fantasy that took hold whenever my life seemed to be headed towards small town USA for good. I thought it would be cool to name a shop after some kind of knitting
goddesses, but as it happened, knitting comes much after greek gods and
goddess. Instead, I was lead to the goddesses of destiny, those that spin,
cut and weave the thread of life in Greek mythology. It seemed very apt, as I was highly uncertain of what kind of career I'd have, or even what place my I'd live in from year to year. I put that in my heart and years later, when I had the opportunity, I started dyeing yarn. I only knew that it would
be addictive, but it has proven to be rewarding beyond measure.

I am Charlotte Hobson, a work at home mummy of 3; I lovingly handcraft custom yarn and fibre from my Victorian home in the heart of Yorkshire, a handful of miles from the Peak District National Park. With a passion for

Jennifer Thomassian has been involved in some form of textile art since the age of 8 when she took over her mother's sewing machine and started begging for her own. From a long line of artists and DIYer's she's tried almost everything. She studied Theatre Arts and costume design in college and worked with a theatre company for a short time. When her daughter was born in 1995 she taught herself to knit and seemingly overnight all she could think about was yarn and knitting. She has suffered from insomnia
